Our community is the backbone of the Mifos Initiative and is made up of three audiences that collaborate together to achieve our vision – microfinance institutions using the Mifos software, Specialists supporting and implementing Mifos at these MFIs, and volunteer contributors developing and extending the Mifos software platform. They breathe life into our platform through their passion and dedication.
COSM employees a small team to organize the community, promote its growth, help it collaborate and make its members shine. We are backed by a board of directors and group of advisors who provide us the visionary thinking to grow and the critical expertise to overcome challenges as we build our community.

Enacting the transformative change our community is capable of will require the support of the microfinance sector and beyond. COSM works with other foundations, technology corporations, and influencers who can provide the funding and resources to help us achieve our mission. As an open source project, partnership is essential to creating the widespread reach & grassroots innovation to achieve our vision. To date we’ve partnered closely with strategic technology partners, our ecosystem, and volunteers. We will now look to these partners to play an even larger role.
